VATA BODY OIL
History and ritual: Oils are revered in Ayurveda, not just for rejuvenating skin, but also for internal nourishment. An age old practice is Abhyanga, or massaging one's skin with a suitable oil. Massaging your skin with a good oil strengthens your tissues, improves blood circulation, delivers nutrients, and delays aging caused by Vata dosha.
Benefits: Saroya Natural's Vata body oil combines three carrier oils infused with warming herbs like ginger, cardamom, and clove. This oil alleviates dryness caused by cold weather and keeps skin nourished and soft.
Ingredients:Helianthus annus (sunflower) seed oil, sesamum indicum (sesame) seed oil, caprylic triglycerides, extracts of zingiber officinate root, elettaria cardamomum miniscula seed, citrus aurantium dulcis (orange), boswellia carteri (frankincense), pelargonium graveolens flower, cananga odorata (ylang ylang) flower and jasmine officinale.
Directions for use: This oil can be used pre or post shower.
Pre-shower: Massage the oil into your skin with gentle strokes. Spend some time on areas that are particularly dry. Enjoy the warming sensation for a few minutes and shower with a gentle body wash.
Post shower: For best results, apply the oil when skin is slightly damp. Massage oil on skin until it sinks in completely. Enjoy the warming sensation.
History and ritual: Herbal face masks are quintessential in Ayurvedic beauty rituals. Known as Mukhalepa, the purpose of a mask is to deliver complexion enhancing nutrients. Herbal face packs are routinely used to bring out the glow, fade scars, and remove impurities. One ingredient that every face pack must have is the highly fragrant wild turmeric.
Benefits: InstaGlow is a face pack for all skin types. In a base of organic oat flour and gentle kaolin clay, InstaGlow contains herbs, including wild turmeric, renowned in Ayurveda to boost skin complexion. A weekly masking routine delivers nutrients to nourish and make your skin glow.
Ingredients: Avena sativa (Oat) flour, pink kaolin clay, santalum album (sandalwood) bark powder, rubia cordifolia (manjishtha) powder, glycyrrhiza glabra (licorice) powder, orange peel powder, terminalia chebula (haritaki) powder, curcuma aromatica (wild turmeric).
Directions for use: Dispense a heaping teaspoon of InstaGlow in a glass bowl. Add water to make a smear able paste. Apply the mask on face, avoiding the under eye area. Let the mask sit until it just dries and rinse off with Luke warm water.
classic rose Facial cream
History and ritual: Facial creams as we know it were not part of Ayurvedic beauty rituals. Facial oils were the staple for moisturization, while the rich, fatty cream from milk was used as a facial treatment. So what place does a modern cream hold in an Ayurvedic beauty ritual? The answer is weather. In cold weather, our skin needs extra protection against dryness than in warm weather. A modern cream provides moisturization, delivers nutrients, and offers the convenience of a leave in treatment that was lacking before.
Benefits: The Classic Rose facial cream is rich and nourishing. Aloe vera provides intense moisturization and softness, while the oil blends used deliver a lightness of feel.
Ingredients: Aqua (water), aloe barbadensis Leaf Juice, limnanthes Alba (meadowfoam) seed oil, caprylic triglycerides, emulsifying wax NF, vegetable glycerin, cetyl alcohol, provitamin B5, isopropyl myristate, leuconostoc/radish root ferment filtrate, geranium rose essential oil, rose absolute.
Directions for use: Apply cream after on cleansed face. Massage the under eye area gently using circular motions.
History and ritual: Fenugreek is a star ingredient in Ayurvedic hair care. It is used in hair washes, hair masks, and infused into oil to control hair fall. Scalp and hair oiling is an essential part of Ayurvedic hair care; the unwritten rule is that hair is never washed without a proper head massage with a suitable oil.
Benefits: Modern science reveals that fenugreek may help with androgenetic alopecia, pattern baldness that can occur in men and women. This oil can be used pre and post shampoo to condition, nourish, and tame frizz.
Ingredients: Caprylic triglycerides infused with trigonella foenum-graecum (fenugreek) seeds, essential oils of vetiveria zizanoides root, origanum majorana (sweet marjoram), lavandula angustifolia flower, and jasmine officinale.
Directions for use: Pre-shampoo - massage a few drops of serum on your scalp and along the length of your hair. Let the serum absorb for and hour and then shampoo.
Post-shampoo - Dry your hair to about 75% after washing. Apply a few drops of serum along the length of your hair to tame frizz.
